How long does a Bovada withdrawal take? Times by method
We earn a commission if you open a Bovada account through links on this page.
A crypto withdrawal from Bovada should reach your wallet within about two days, going by the times Bovada publishes. Checks and bank wires take two to three weeks. Every request is reviewed first, which takes 24 to 48 hours (about 24 for Bitcoin), and the payment goes out after that.
Withdrawal times by method
| Method | Review | After approval |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | About 24 hours | Up to 24 hours |
| Litecoin, Ethereum, USDT, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV | 24 to 48 hours | Up to 1 hour |
| Bitcoin Lightning | 24 to 48 hours | Not published |
| MatchPay | 24 to 48 hours | Listed as instant (paid when a buyer takes your offer) |
| Voucher | About 24 hours | Code emailed once approved |
| Player transfer | About 24 hours | Not published |
| Check by courier | 24 to 48 hours | 10 to 15 business days |
| Bank wire | 24 to 48 hours | 10 to 15 business days |
Add the two columns together and Bitcoin and the other main coins arrive within about two days. Bitcoin clears review sooner but can take up to a day to send, while the other coins take longer to review and then go out within an hour. Bovada’s crypto withdrawal guide gives a tighter estimate of about 24 hours from request to wallet.
You may see 15 minutes quoted for Bitcoin on Bovada’s blog. The help center gives the longer times in the table, so plan around those.
MatchPay depends on the trade. Once approved, your money is held for you to post as an offer on MatchPay, and you’re paid when another MatchPay user takes it and sends the money through an app like PayPal, Venmo or Cash App. Zelle trades made on a weekend or holiday go through on the next business day.
Big withdrawals are paid in installments
If you ask for more than a method’s per-request maximum, Bovada pays it in installments. You can track them under Installments in the Pending Withdrawals section of your account.
- Checks go out $3,000 at a time, one every 7 days.
- Bitcoin requests over $9,500 are sent in installments every 3 days.
Bovada says installments differ by method. Its own example is a $6,000 check request, paid as two $3,000 checks sent a week apart. Since each check takes 10 to 15 business days to arrive, the full $6,000 can take three to four weeks to reach you.
Some coins also have low weekly caps. Ethereum, USDT and Bitcoin Cash are limited to $2,500 a week, so $10,000 in Ethereum would have to come out over four weeks. Litecoin allows $180,000 a week and Bitcoin $90,000, both with a $9,500 limit per request. You can make one crypto withdrawal every 15 minutes, and Bovada says limits can vary by account.
What slows a withdrawal down
ID checks
Bovada may ask for documents before it processes a payment. Its automated check asks for photos of the front and back of a passport, driver’s license or ID card, and Bovada says reviewing ID takes about 24 to 48 hours. If you’re asked, send them straight away, since the payment waits on them.
Sign up with your real name, address and date of birth. Bovada’s KYC policy says it may check your details against government ID through outside providers, and that false or unverifiable information can get an account closed and its winnings voided.
Credit card verification forms
If you’ve deposited with a credit card, Bovada needs a Credit Card Verification Form (CCVF) for each card before it processes any withdrawal, Bitcoin included. The form is under Forms & Agreements at the bottom of Bovada’s site, and you can send it in before you ask for a payout.
Deposits you haven’t wagered
Every deposit has to be wagered in full before you withdraw winnings. If you request a payout before then, Bovada’s withdrawals team can cancel it and put the money back in your balance.
Bonuses add their own rollover. Money tied to a bonus is locked and released as you play through it, and only your Available to Withdraw balance can be cashed out. Our guide to locked funds on Bovada explains how that works.
Crypto deposits that haven’t confirmed
Bovada won’t process a crypto withdrawal until your crypto deposits have been confirmed. If you deposited recently, the withdrawal waits for that deposit to clear.
Wallet address problems
Each coin needs an address from a wallet that holds that exact coin. Bovada says no two coins are interchangeable, and a payment sent to the wrong address can’t be reversed. It also asks for a new wallet address for every withdrawal, even after a failed attempt.
Very large requests
Bovada reserves the right to process large withdrawal requests “in the manner that is most appropriate.” Its help pages don’t say what that means for timing.
While you wait
The money comes out of your balance as soon as you submit the request. You can cancel a crypto withdrawal that hasn’t been sent yet: click the profile icon, choose Review under Pending Withdrawals, then Cancel. Player transfers can’t be cancelled.
Be wary of anyone claiming to be Bovada staff who asks you to cancel a withdrawal and send the money to a username. Bovada says it will never ask for your password or tell you to transfer funds to a specific player.
If a payout runs well past the times above, contact Bovada customer support by live chat. If that doesn’t sort it out, you can email disputeresolution@bovada.lv between 7 days and 6 months after the issue started. No US state licenses Bovada, so it doesn’t answer to a US gaming regulator the way a state-licensed sportsbook does. Our Bovada review covers what that means for you.
The fastest way to get paid
Crypto is the quickest method with a published timeline, at about two days from request to wallet, and Bovada charges no fee on it. MatchPay is listed as instant once approved, but you’re only paid when a buyer takes your offer. Checks and wires take weeks, and each check costs $100.
For each method’s limits and the steps to request a payout, see how Bovada pays out. Our guide to Bovada’s fees lists every charge.
If you’re still deciding whether to open a Bovada account, these are the payout times you’d be working with. Crypto is the quickest way to get your money out.
