How does Bovada pay out? Methods, limits and steps

We earn a commission if you open a Bovada account through links on this page.

Bovada pays you through the withdrawal method you pick in your account. The options are crypto sent to your own wallet, MatchPay (where another player pays you through an app like PayPal or Cash App), a voucher, a player transfer, a check or a bank wire. Every request is reviewed first, and the methods on offer can vary by account.

This page covers each method’s limits and how to request a payout. For how long each one takes, see how long a Bovada withdrawal takes.

From Bovada’s withdrawal limits and player transfer help pages, September 2026. You can make one crypto withdrawal every 15 minutes, and Bovada says limits can differ by account.

Ask for more than a method’s per-request limit and Bovada splits the payout into installments.

Not every account sees every option. Bovada’s withdrawal methods page lists only the six main coins and vouchers, and says you may be eligible for more depending on “the status of your account.” Your withdrawal method may also depend on how you deposited. Bovada doesn’t list cards as a withdrawal option.

How to request a payout

  1. Log in, click the profile icon at the top of the page, then click Withdraw.
  2. Choose your withdrawal method.
  3. Enter the amount and any details the method asks for. For crypto, that’s a receiving address from a wallet for that exact coin, pasted into the Your Wallet Address field.
  4. Click Request Withdrawal. The confirmation screen shows a reference number for your request.
  5. Enter the verification code Bovada sends you by text to complete the request.

The money leaves your balance as soon as you submit. Bovada reviews requests in the order they arrive, then pays you by the method you picked.

How each method pays you

Crypto

Bovada sends the coins to the wallet address you give it. That wallet has to hold the exact coin you’re withdrawing, since Bovada says no two coins are interchangeable, and Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash count as different coins. Crypto sent to the wrong address can’t be reversed, and Bovada asks for a new address for each withdrawal.

Bovada charges nothing to send crypto, though wallet and network fees can apply. Turning the coins into dollars means selling them on an exchange or app, which charges its own fees, and the price can move before you sell.

MatchPay

MatchPay is a separate peer-to-peer platform where you sell your Bovada balance to another user, who pays you through PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Chime or Cash App. You need a MatchPay account plus an account with the app you want to be paid through. Bovada says MatchPay transactions are free.

After Bovada approves the withdrawal, the money is held for you and you post it as an offer on MatchPay. When a buyer takes it, they pay you through your chosen app. Only confirm the trade once the money is actually in your app. Our MatchPay guide goes through a trade step by step.

Vouchers and player transfers

Both keep the money inside Bovada. A voucher withdrawal gets you a code by email that you or any other Bovada player can redeem, and an unclaimed code expires after 6 months, taking the money with it. A player transfer goes straight to another player’s username and can’t be cancelled.

Either one turns into cash only if another player pays you for it, which you arrange yourself, for example on Bovada’s community forum. Bovada’s player transfer terms say it isn’t responsible for any losses.

Check by courier

Checks run from $250 to $3,000, one every 7 days, and cost $100 per request. Larger amounts go out as $3,000 installments. Checks can’t be sent to a P.O. box or a military address.

Bank wire

Wires run from $1,500 to $9,500, one every 30 days. Bovada doesn’t publish a wire fee, so ask support before you request one. Our guide to Bovada’s fees lists every charge.

What Bovada checks before paying you

  • Every deposit has to be wagered once before you withdraw winnings. The exception is money you withdrew and then re-deposit through a player transfer, MatchPay or a voucher.
  • If you took a bonus, the money tied to it is locked and released as you play through the rollover. Only your Available to Withdraw balance can be cashed out.
  • If you’ve deposited by credit card, Bovada needs a Credit Card Verification Form for each card before any withdrawal, Bitcoin included. It’s under Forms & Agreements at the bottom of Bovada’s site.
  • You may be asked for ID. The automated check wants photos of the front and back of a passport, driver’s license or ID card.

Bovada’s KYC policy says it may check your details against government ID through outside providers. False or unverifiable information can get an account closed and its winnings voided, so sign up with your real name, address and date of birth.

Where Cash App fits

Cash App isn’t one of Bovada’s withdrawal methods. You can reach it through MatchPay, with Cash App as the payment app, or with a Bitcoin withdrawal (minimum $75) to your Cash App bitcoin address. Our guide to withdrawing from Bovada to Cash App covers both routes and Cash App’s own rules on gambling.

Taxes on your winnings

Bovada says it doesn’t report winnings to tax authorities. The IRS still treats gambling winnings as fully taxable income that you have to report on your return.

Our Bovada review covers deposits, bonuses and the rest of the site.

If you’re deciding whether to join Bovada, these are the ways you’d be paid. Crypto avoids Bovada’s withdrawal fees, and MatchPay can pay you through apps like PayPal or Cash App.
