No, Bovada doesn’t have an app for iPhone or Android. You use it in your phone’s web browser: go to bovada.lv in Safari or Chrome and the mobile version of the site loads, with deposits and withdrawals working from there too. If you’d like one-tap access, you can save the site to your home screen.

What Bovada says

Bovada’s mobile casino page puts it plainly: “There is no Bovada Casino app available. Our online casino works exclusively from the web.” Its poker pages say no download is needed to play on a phone, and its security help page says logging in to the website “is all that’s required of you to place bets and play games.”

Bovada says the only software it would prompt you to download is its poker program, and that’s made for Windows and Mac computers.

Add Bovada to your home screen

Bovada’s blog suggests saving the site to your home screen so that tapping the icon loads it straight away.

iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and go to bovada.lv.
  2. Tap the three-dot More button next to the address bar, then tap Share.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Leave Open as Web App on if you want Bovada to open like an app, without Safari’s address bar. Turn it off if you’d rather have a plain bookmark. Then tap Add.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and go to bovada.lv.
  2. Tap More (the three dots to the right of the address bar), then Install and create shortcut.
  3. Tap Install and follow the on-screen instructions.

Apps and APK files that use Bovada’s name

Going by what Bovada says on its own pages, an app or APK file offered under the Bovada name, whether in an app store or on a download site, doesn’t come from Bovada. APK files are Android apps you download and install directly, outside Google Play.

Bovada’s security help warns that lookalike sites on other domains “may themselves be trying to install malware, adware or contain other viruses on your devices to obtain your private information.” An app or file that borrows Bovada’s name can carry the same risk, and signing in through it means typing your Bovada email and password into software Bovada didn’t make. Google says its Play Protect service checks Android phones for “potentially harmful apps from other sources.”

Stick to what Bovada describes: type bovada.lv into your browser yourself and save it to your home screen if you want an icon.

What’s different on a phone

Poker

Bovada’s mobile poker has cash games, Zone Poker and every tournament it runs. On a phone you can play up to four cash or tournament tables at once. The download page for its Windows and Mac software mentions multi-tabling up to 15 tournament tables.

Casino and live dealer

Bovada says almost every casino game on its desktop site is on mobile too, along with several games you can only play on a phone. Many games need the phone turned sideways, and on a small screen you may have to swipe left or right to find the game menu and paytable.

Live dealer games use the most data of anything in the casino, and they’re the only games with a short time limit to make your move. Bovada notes that on Wi-Fi, its casino games won’t use any of your mobile data.

A phone call pauses a casino game automatically, though a text doesn’t. If your connection drops mid-game, Bovada says balances update instantly on its side, so any wins from the session show up once you’re back online.

If Bovada won’t load on your phone
